Allyson Felix

Allyson Melissa Felix was birthed in Los Angeles, California on November 18th 1985. Her father Paul Felix was an ordained minister at the Master's Seminary in Sun Valley and their mother Marlean Felix was a school teacher at Balboa Magnet Elementary School. Felix's ability to compete in athletics was apparent from the time she began attending Los Angeles Baptist High School. She came second at the U.S. Indoor Track and Field Championships within just 10 weeks after her first attempt. Felix signed a contract for a professional career with Adidas in 2003. She later enrolled in University of Southern California to learn about elementary education. Her first Olympic medal came at the 2004 Summer Olympics which took place at Athens Greece. Felix set a world junior record for running 200m in 22.18 secs. She was the youngest world champion in the 200 meters in the Helsinki World Championships and defended her title in 2007, beating her long-time Jamaican rival Veronica Campbell. Felix consistently placed within the top third in each event she competed in at Beijing London Rio de Janeiro Tokyo.
