Allyson Felix

Allyson Melissa Felix was born in Los Angeles, California on November 18th 1985. Paul Felix served as an ordained minister in Sun Valley at Master's Seminary. Marlean Felix taught at Balboa Magnet. Felix demonstrated a talent for sports early, and discovered her talent for sprinting when she attended the Los Angeles Baptist High School. After just 10 weeks of her first race, Felix finished 2nd in the 200-meter race of the U.S. Indoor Track and Field Championship. Felix finished high school and signed a pro-contract to Adidas. In the year 2004, she began her studies at her first year at the University of Southern California, in the area of elementary education. Felix took home her first Olympic medal at the 2004 Summer Olympics that took place at Athens Greece. She set the Junior World Record running 200 metres in 22.18 seconds. She was the youngest world champion of 200 meters at the Helsinki World Championships. She defended this title in 2007, defeating her long-time Jamaican competitor Veronica Campbell. Felix competed in her first Olympics in Beijing London Rio de Janeiro and Tokyo always finishing in the top three in all her competitions.
